Thursday night. One day to go until the weekend. There's still 8 hours of the week left to go, however, and that sucks. So, how to combat this suckiness? Well, the only way possible, of course! Free Buffalo Wings and Beer.

Where to go? Well, of all the wonderful bars in Boston, there's only one we know of that provides free wings (from 9 to 11) on Thursday nights. As a bonus, they also have Caffery's and Guiness, drinks that are closer to ambrosia than mortals should be allowed.

So, to The Crossroads we go. It's nice, calm, and has free wings. Actually, at first we went for the wings. Now we go for...well, the wings. But we like the place, too. It's small, and as long as we can get a table, we're all set.

So, since I'm a CS dork, and since I got a digital camera for Christmas (ha! screw you Kevin!) we'll be showing in horrid detail what goes on during Thursday nights at The Crossroads.

History

The Beginning
2001. The Year Mike McClain turned 21. To celebrate, a bunch of us guys went out, and decided that it was a bloody awesome time, and that we should repeat ``Guys's Night Out.'' So, one night, many weeks later, Mike called me, and told me to drag my ass over to this bar call the Crossroads. So, since free wings is never something for a college student to pass up, I headed over. It was a grand time, and we decided then and there to make Tuesday night the traditional Guy's Night.

The Change
Then, we, as a group, realized that we were missing something. We then realized that that something was ``Girls.'' These mysterious creatures have strange and evil powers. We stopped counting the bartender after we realized that she only talked to us because we tipped really well in exchange for any little bit of attention from the opposite sex. So, we started inviting everyone, so it's no longer ``Guy's night out.'' So, now we have to think of a new name for Tuesday nights.

The Vote, The Revolution!
Summer 2001. Despite the fact that Tuesday night worked out PERFECTLY for me, Mike started crazy talk about moving the night we go out to Thursdays. Sometimes stupid ideas become popular with the masses. Pet Rocks, Beanie Babies, and now - Crossroads on Thursdays. Although my prophecy that Crossroads would become full of weak, annoying BU people did not come to pass, I'm biding my time until I can once again get Crossroads night (we really need something to call it...) gets moved BACK to Tuesdays where it belongs.

The Reign of Kevin is Over
For nearly a year now, Kevin has held us hostage to the fact that he is the only one who has a digital camera. Many fun nights were left forever unrecorded because Kevin was a tool and didn't come. However, Kevin has been overthrown as the only person in our group to have a digital camera, thanks to the amazing gift-giving ability of my Godmother, Dee Chilson. I got a very nice HP digital camera from her for Christmas. So, Kevin, go ahead, be a troll, we can still take pictures!

The Bartenders Of The World

(well, just the Crossroads for now)

The guy on the left is J.J. He's cool for a number of reasons. First, his name is almost as cool as T.J., second he gives us free wings, and last, and most of all, because he sells beer. I have to apologize for spreading the rumor that he wasn't around on Thursdays, cause he is. He wasn't there the FIRST Thursday we went, so I putup that he wasn't there, and never changed it until now.

The girl in the middle is Jenny. She's another bartender at the crossroads. She's not there on Thursdays. But, she took care of us of a few weeks, so I'm leaving her up. Any girl that serves us beer and gives us free wings is okay in our book.

Lovely lady #2 is Anna. She's really cool. Like Jenny, she gives us wings and sells us beer, but she's been there much more than Jenny (who we never see any more). My friend Rob fell in love with her on the night he came up.
